Welcome to PURGE project website
PURGE is an acronym for a collaborative research project which stands for:
Public health impacts in URban environments of Greenhouse gas Emmisions reductions strategies.
PURGE project will examine the health impacts of greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction policies in urban settings in Europe, China and India, using case studies of 3-4 large urban centres and three smaller urban centres. Sets of realistic interventions will be proposed, tailored to local needs, to meet published abatement goals for GHG Emissions for 2020, 2030 and 2050.
PURGE consortium is a collaboration of research teams from nine institutions from countries across Europe, India and China.
PURGE project is funded by the European Commission by its 7th Framework Programme under the Grant Agreement No. 265325.
PURGE project has expected duration of 42 months, starting from February 2011.
